TGJam 2021 - As Above, So Below
Unnamed gamejam stategy game
A turn-based strategy game where the player roll 2 dice onto the battlefield to decide which unit gets to move how far. The 2 pairs of dice then become obstacles to navigate around each turn.
Developed at a weekend gamejam at The Great Journey in Karlstad, Sweden by members of the indie game developers Team Velocita AB.
The intent of this game was to be just a simple prototype that fit the gamejam theme of "As above, so below" (the main )
Uses Dice pack light from the Unity asset store for the dice models and dice functionality.
Uses the Russian Land font.
Controls
Click the button or press space to roll the dice of the current player character.
Use the mouse to choose the path for the given unit with the given number of actions shown in the number counter.
Clicking enemies (when the line is red) queues up an attack.
The line changing color to purple denotes an obstacle in the way, preventing movement.
Known bugs
Rolling the dice too early (while the unit is still moving) will deadlock the game, requiring a reload of the game.fixed- The number counter often shows the wrong number of moves left, until the first move has been made.
- Units can rarely get stuck if the entire circle around it is blocked, deadlocking the game and requiring a reload.
- Sometimes the voice clips of the wrong character play at the start of turns
